Fachat How It Works

How Fachat works

How Fachat works, one screen at a time

Home, match, call, Who's online. Four screens stand between you and a conversation with someone new, and none of them is a sign-up form. Here is what each one does.

What happens after I tap Start on Fachat?

Your browser requests the camera and the microphone, then the site connects you with someone who is online. End the call whenever you like and tap again for the next one.

Overview

What are the four screens on Fachat?

Home, match, call and Who's online. From the moment you open the site to the moment you are talking to someone, those four are all you pass through, and each has one control doing most of the work. Learn those four and you have learned the product.

Notice what is missing from the list below: a registration form. You do not create an account to begin. That step simply is not there. A fifth place, the profile page, is where you end up once you have found someone you want to talk to again, and it gets its own section further down.

  1. 1

    Home

The Start video chat button. Tapping it takes you to the match screen.

  2. 2

    Match

One big match button. The Reward Center is higher up, at the top of the match screen.

  3. 3

    Call

The other person full screen, your own preview, and the controls to end, mute, type or follow.

  4. 4

    Who's online

A browsable list of people online now, for when you would rather choose.

Screen one

What happens when the home page loads?

A guest session is created for you. By the time fachat.cam has finished loading, the site has already given this browser a temporary identity, and that is what lets you start a call without typing an email address or choosing a password.

The home page itself is short on controls by design. Start video chat is the main one. Beside it is a link to Who's online, for visitors who would rather look before they leap. Everything else on the page is reading material, and you can ignore all of it.

Screen two

What does the Start button actually do?

It asks the browser for your camera and microphone, then looks for another adult who is waiting right then, and links the pair of you on a live call. Matching is random, so you do not choose who answers, and there is no gender or country setting to adjust first. A match usually arrives within moments; if the call is not for you, end it and tap again.

The Reward Center, where free matches can be claimed, is at the top of the match screen. It belongs to the money side of the product, so this page leaves it at one sentence; the Fachat free page explains what you start with and where coins come in.

Screen three

Which controls are on the call screen?

The ones in the table below. Most of the display belongs to the person you are talking to, with a small preview of yourself off to one side, and the controls sit around the picture. It is worth a glance at each on your first call, while nothing is going wrong.

What the call screen lets you do
ControlWhat it does
End callCloses the conversation at once; you can start a new match straight after
Camera / micTurn either off to continue by voice or in silence
Message boxType to the other person instead of, or alongside, talking
FollowSaves this person to your Following list for next time
GiftA paid extra, bought with your coins

When a call ends, the closing screen offers Follow, Message and Video Chat for the person you just spoke to, plus a button to carry on matching. What to say during the call is on the Fachat video chat page; where to find report and block is mapped out in the safety tips.

Screen four

How do you pick a person yourself rather than take a random match?

Open Who's online. It lists the people online now, each with a photo and a name, and tapping a card opens that person's profile. From there you decide what happens next, which makes it the opposite of the match button: slower, but the choice is yours.

The list changes all the time, because it only shows who is around at that moment. Someone you saw an hour ago may have gone, and new faces will have arrived. That is a good reason to follow the people you like: a follow keeps them findable after they drop off the list.

Direct video calls to someone you picked run on coins, unlike the first random matches. Browsing the list does not start a call by itself, so nothing happens until you tap.

Beyond the four screens

What does a person's profile let you do?

Three main things: follow, message and call. Together they are why one lucky random match can lead somewhere. A profile opens when you tap a card in Who's online, a name in your Following list, or the person you have just been talking to.

Follow

One tap adds that person to your Following list. Next time you open the site you can go straight to the people you liked instead of hoping the match button brings them round again.

Message

Tap Message and a text conversation with that person opens. It does not matter if they are busy on a call; you can still write, and the thread stays in your messages for later.

Video Chat

The Video Chat button rings that person directly for a one-to-one video call. No random match is involved; you are calling one specific person.

Report or block

The profile menu holds both. Block stops that person reaching you; Report brings up a short form: pick a reason, then say what took place.

Optional

Where is the Fachat login, and do you need one?

You do not need one to start, and there is no login gate at the front of the site. Nothing on the first screen asks for an email address or a password. You begin as a guest when the page loads, and signing in is something you may choose to do later.

It becomes worth doing once you have something to lose. A guest session belongs to a single browser. Wipe that browser's storage, or move to another phone, and the guest session does not come with you; neither do the people you followed or any coins you bought. Signing in turns the guest session into an account you can return to. If you only ever dip in from one device, you can stay a guest for as long as you like.

On a phone you may also want the site on your home screen, which the Fachat app page covers. And if anything about talking to someone new on camera makes you hesitate, read is Fachat safe first.

FAQ

Questions about using Fachat

How does Fachat work?

You open fachat.cam, tap Start video chat, allow camera and microphone, and the site connects you at random with someone who is online for a one-to-one call. You can end it at any time and start another.

Where is the Fachat login?

There is no login needed to start. The site creates a guest session automatically, which means you can start talking straight away and leave signing in for the day you want the account to last.

How do I sign up for Fachat?

You do not have to. Using the site as a guest is the default. Signing in is optional and mainly matters once you have follows or coins you would not want to lose.

How long does matching take?

Mostly just moments. The wait follows how many people happen to be available at the instant you tap, so it can stretch a little at quiet hours.

Can I filter matches by country or gender?

No. Random matches are not filtered. To choose who you talk to, open Who's online, tap a card and place the call from the profile that opens.

What is Who's online?

It is the page showing everyone currently on the site. Each card leads to a profile with three buttons: follow, message and video call.

If I wipe my browser data, is my guest session gone?

Yes, and whatever was attached to it goes too. Sign in beforehand if you have follows or coins you want to keep.

Where do I find people I followed?

In your Following list. Tap a name there to open the profile, where the Message and Video Chat buttons are.

Can I message someone without starting a video call?

Yes. Open their profile and tap Message. The chat stays in your messages, so you can pick it up again later.

Reading about it takes longer than doing it

The first screen is one tap away. See the other three for yourself.
